Our watch has almost ended. With HBO’s Game of Thrones ending later this year, many fans may not be aware of just how much information was cut from the show that was featured in the books. The Night’s Watch, in particular, had many cool facts and facets that couldn’t make it to air time, while some elements were changed entirely for the sake of the narrative. And so, here are 10 facts about The Night’s Watch that were left out of the HBO show....

It’s the end of an era for technology fans: After nearly 36 years, Fry’s Electronics has officially confirmed that it is going out of business and closing all of its stores nationwide. The company has also completely shut down its online store and replaced it with a goodbye message. In the announcement message, Fry’s explains that it has made the decision to shutter its operations as a result of “changes in the retail industry and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic....

Arya Stark is arguably the character on Game of Thrones with the most compelling arc. She started off as an innocent young girl who clearly had bigger aspirations than sewing, cooking, and tending house. Once she witnessed the beheading of her father, a strong sense of revenge took over and she was out for blood. Arya became a fierce warrior thanks to training by a number of people she met along the way....

Tyrion Lannister, portrayed by the marvelous and award-winning Peter Dinklage was a fan favorite on Game of Thrones since his initial appearance in the pilot episode of the eight-season HBO hit. “I drink and I know things,” the youngest Lannister was known to say, and he was right. Viewers certainly got to watch Tyrion drink and, for the most part, he seemed to know things. Perhaps he wasn’t as enveloped in secrets as his friend Varys, but he certainly had quite the mind and was wise enough to both almost control his nephew Joffrey as well as to lead and win The Battle of the Blackwater....

Apple and Foxconn are continuing to work on bringing that $12.5 billion iPad plant in Brazil online (there have been no iPads “Made in Brazil” seen yet, unlike iPhones). Meanwhile, the country’s Secretary of Planning and Development of the State of São Paulo Julio Semeghini revealed today that Apple’s favorite contract manufacturer will build up to five factories in Brazil with a thousand employees each. According to a local report by Folha....

Foxconn has insisted that it remains committed to creating 13,000 Wisconsin jobs, even though the state’s new governor said yesterday that the deal ‘is no longer in play’ and needs to be renegotiated … Foxconn was offered a combination of tax-breaks, infrastructure improvements and other incentives worth up to $4B on the basis of direct and indirect Wisconsin jobs expected to be created by a major new display factory. Since then, there has been various talk of scaling back plans, not building a factory after all and building something vague....

Foxconn’s planned takeover of Sharp, to allow it to begin making displays for iPhones as well as assembling them, is reportedly back on track. First reports of Foxconn’s interest in purchasing Sharp’s display division emerged last September, when it was reported that Apple would come on board as an investor. Foxconn made a $5.3B bid in January, and it was initially reported that the deal had been concluded last week....

Foxconn smartphone revenue dropped by 15% in the second quarter of the year, according to the company’s latest earnings report. Although Foxconn has a number of phone clients, the majority of its smartphone revenue comes from Apple. The company had previously warned that the impact of the coronavirus crisis on smartphone demand would be ‘enormous‘ … The 15% drop was in line with the company’s forecast, made back in May....

As Apple gears up to begin manufacturing iPhones in India as part of a deal to open retail stores in the country, it’s being reported that its main assembler – Foxconn – will not be the lead supplier. Instead, a company with existing smartphone manufacturing facilities in the country, Wistron, is said to have been selected by Apple as its primary supplier in India. It’s not the first time we’ve heard iPhone-related rumors about Wistron …...
