Friends’ Joey’s character was great for a lot of reasons. He was incredibly loyal, funny, and always ready to defend the people he cared about. Although he had a lot of admirable qualities, there were very few moments of character growth. Joey’s relationships, career, and overall perspectives didn’t seem to progress much throughout the show, especially compared to the rest of the characters. Chandler got over his fear of commitment, Monica learned to pretend to be less controlling, Rachel became more independent, Phoebe learned not to stab cops even if they stabbed her first....

The FTC is seeking information that was not reported to the antitrust agencies under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act. The investigation covers all transactions that each company completed between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2019. That window includes Apple’s $3 billion acquisition of Beats that was completed in 2014, as well as Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram. The purpose of the investigation is to help the FTC “deepen its understanding” of the acquisition strategy of companies like Apple....

Futurama was a fan favorite series while it aired, and even years after the series concluded, fans still obsess about it. And with good reason – the characters and plots captivated us, presenting us with humor and so much more. With a series as complex as Futurama, it should probably come as no surprise to hear that there are a few loose ends still hanging. While there’s nothing wrong with that (not automatically, at least) we would’ve loved to see where these threads led....

The X-Men universe is in the midst of a renewed push to expand the universe beyond just the main team and Wolverine. This effort truly began when Deadpool was given his own film, and now there’s both a Deadpool sequel and spinoff in X-Force, in the works. With Logan sending off Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine next month, 20th Century Fox has another actor/character waiting for his own solo film: Gambit. Channing Tatum has been attached to star in Gambit for the past few years, but the project continues to struggle to make its way out of pre-production....

Game of Thrones could have been greatly different if the series’ creators had cast someone other than Kit Harington in the role of Jon Snow. The curly-haired and doe-eyed character instantly won over the hearts of viewers and served as a fan favorite for much of the series. Due to Jon’s prominence at the center of the HBO fantasy, Harington evolved into one of the faces of the series; however, a handful of other actors tried their hand at portraying the character, and the show may have looked very different if someone else had been cast as the Bastard of Winterfell....

Many shows that were made decades, or even a decade or so ago, often look outdated upon rewatching. While no piece of media is perfect, there were jokes that used to be seen as acceptable that now are not. Friends is a show from the ’90s and early 2000s that became popular again when it became available on Netflix. Many people watching through again and binging the whole series have realized there were many jokes that might have seemed funny at the time that are now just cringey or uncomfortable....

Disney’s Frozen 2 has received mixed reviews, but the box office results mean there’s still plenty of reason for Disney to make Frozen 3. For Frozen 2, screenwriter Jennifer Lee once again co-directed with Chris Buck, using the sequel to open up the characters’ horizons to lands beyond Arendelle. Frozen 2 mostly focuses on the relationship between the main Arendelle protagonists and the Northuldra tribe. Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) feels drawn to the north after hearing voices, and sets forth with sister Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), reindeer Sven, and the snowman Olaf (Josh Gad)....

HBO Max has gotten a trailer teasing its library of content. Having sat on the sidelines up to this point, HBO will officially join the streaming wars when it launches its HBO Max service in May. In a bid to rival its competitors (especially Netflix and Disney+), the streamer will include exclusive access to extremely popular (but no longer running) sitcoms like Friends and The Big Bang Theory, in addition to comparatively niche series like Doctor Who and The Boondocks, and the wealth of older movies WarnerMedia already owns the rights to....

Those at Winterfell mourn the dead and prepare for the final battle to come in photos from Game of Thrones season 8, episode 4. The show delivered the long-anticipated Battle of Winterfell in last week’s “The Long Night”, pitting the Night King and his army of white walkers and wights against those still alive in the North and Danerys Targaryen’s forces. It was a pretty bloody showdown altogether (the parts you could see, anyway), with several characters getting killed and, in some cases, even briefly joining the Army of the Dead....

The Friday the 13th franchise has seen a lot of changes since its premiere in 1980, particularly with its ever-changing villain, Jason Voorhees. Marcus Nispel’s 2009 remake of Friday the 13th made a solid attempt to revert the franchise back to its start as a slasher franchise by bringing the horror back to Camp Crystal Lake. Nispel and his team worked to answer some of the questions raised by previous installments and showed Jason transition from wearing a sack over his head (which he did in the second movie) to donning his iconic hockey mask (which happened in part three) for the first time....

TV shows usually do special episodes for holidays like Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and so on. Although, most shows kind of skip Thanksgiving. But not Friends. Friends made Thanksgiving its main holiday, thus becoming the go-to show for this holiday. Each season the writers would find new ways to tell a funny Thanksgiving story that focuses on character development and character relationships, while also capturing the spirit of the holiday....

Warning: SPOILERS for Frozen 2 ahead. Frozen 2 features one final gag which arguably was the funniest joke in the film, but it was already done before in the MCU. The Arendelle sisters are back for a brand new adventure. It might have been a long six-year-wait for fans of the franchise to see Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) back on the big screen again, but it appears to be worth it considering a generally positive reception to the darker sequel (not to mention Frozen 2’s record-breaking box office opening)....

The head of House Dondarrion was a minor character in the first season before he remerged in Game of Thrones season 3 as a member of the Brotherhood. In total, Beric appeared in a total of 14 episodes within the entire series....

The world of tabletop role-playing campaigns is coming to the DC Universe streaming service, in the platform’s first original unscripted gaming mini-series, DC Universe All Star Games. And for executive producer Freddie Prinze Jr., it’s the definition of a ‘passion project.’ The new series is planned as an anthology bringing famous DC fans together to take part in the quickly-expanding genre of tabletop game streaming. While Prinze’s co-executive producer and Game Master Sam Witwer may be an expert in Dungeons & Dragons, it’s the heroes of the DC Comics Universe taking the spotlight in the five-part series....

Phoebe Buffay doesn’t have the kind of wild love stories that Rachel and Monica do in Friends. There’s no real decade long will-they-won’t-they, there’s no secret relationship that lasts for months… in many ways, Phoebe actually makes some of the best relationship decisions in the series, and her final big decision is between Mike and David. David was one of Phoebe’s first love interests, the cute scientist who won her heart… and then broke it, when he left her to do research in Minsk....

The show ran for 10 successful years and catapulted Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courtney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), David Schwimmer (Ross), Matthew Perry (Chandler) and Matt LeBlanc (Joey) to mainstream popularity. More than a decade after it wrapped up, it remains to be as popular as it was when it was still airing thanks to its availability on Netflix....

It’s hard to believe the final season of Game of Thrones is here. It seems like just yesterday we were being introduced to the Starks and Lannisters. Now, after eight seasons the time has come to say goodbye in what promises to be an epic and bloody finale. There has been a lot of chaos leading up to this conclusion. There’s been nonstop war, a lot of death and more than a few weddings....

Here is who died in the Game of Thrones finale. The final season of HBO’s blockbuster series has resulted in the deaths of many major characters. Some perished in “The Long Night” defending Westeros from the White Walkers before Arya Stark killed the Night King and won the Battle of Winterfell. Others died as a result of the Last War for King’s Landing, where Daenerys Targaryen became the Mad Queen and savagely burned the capital to the ground to win the Iron Throne from Cersei Lannister....

France is imposing a blanket ban on the use of smartphones and personal tablets by students while they are at school … The country has already banned use of the devices during lessons, but Engadget reports that the government is now extending the ban throughout the day. In other words schools will be allowed to permit usage for specific learning-related tasks, or when a child has special needs. There has been growing concern in France that too much usage of smartphones and tablets is creating problems ranging from sleep disruption to cyber-bullying....
