Jon Snow, by rights, should be sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of Game Of Thrones season 8. There are plenty of contenders to rule Westeros going into the final season: that Cersei’s pregnancy proves the Valonqar prophecy wrong and she’ll stay in power; that Tyrion will betray Daenerys to stand at his sister’s side; that Daenerys will finally get the throne she’s wanted since season 1. But the biggest, of course, is that Jon Snow, the bastard of Winterfell, will end the series as the King of the Seven Kingdoms....

Game of Thrones’ original pilot episode never aired and was reportedly such a disaster that it would’ve ruined the series. Now, an unearthed script shows just what was wrong. HBO’s critically acclaimed TV series is wrapping up its story with season 8 in April, but long before Game of Thrones even debuted on the network, a pilot episode was written, filmed, and edited. As Apple and Google develop contact-tracing technology, France says a technical obstacle in iOS is preventing its government contact-tracing app from working properly. Bloomberg reports that France wants to deploy the app by May 11, and it’s asking Apple to “lift the technical hurdle” that’s currently in the way. As the report explains, Apple is preventing contact-tracing apps from running Bluetooth in the background when data is moved off the device....

Gartner is out with its quarterly report for worldwide mobile device sales by vendor and OS for the third quarter. While reporting an overall 3 percent decline in mobile phone sales, the smartphone category hit 169.2 million units in Q3, a 47 percent increase from the year-ago quarter.
