HBO has released a new trailer for their upcoming slate of programming, and among the new footage is a few seconds from Game of Thrones season 8. The series doesn’t return until April, but with it being the final season of Game of Thrones, fans are anxious for any information regarding the new episodes.

A full trailer has yet to release for Game of Thrones season 8, but HBO has been dropping glimpses at the final season within montage trailers like this one. Last year, the very first footage released from season 8 was a few seconds from Jon and Sansa’s forthcoming reunion, while another trailer from earlier this year had footage teasing the moment Sansa welcomes Daenerys to Winterfell. And this newest bit of footage also centers on Winterfell and the new characters arriving there at the start of Game of Thrones season 8.

This trailer includes new footage from several upcoming HBO programs - Watchmen, Deadwood, Big Little Lies, and more. Still, its the new Game of Thrones footage that’s sure to stir up the most buzz. And HBO definitely recognizes the popularity of the series, prominently featuring it both in the middle and again at the end of the trailer. For the new footage, however, jump to the 48 second mark.

Considering that HBO already showed us Daenerys arriving at Winterfell, it isn’t too shocking to see that her Unsullied army as well as her favorite dragon are also in tow. Instead, what’s notable is the reaction shot of the people who are clearly seeing their first ever dragon. As expected, most of the Winterfell smallfolk appear utterly terrified - as any sane person should. And there’s Arya, who upon spying the massive dragon has a look of awe and wonder.

No matter what struggles Arya has endured, she’s never lost her adventurous spirit. Game of Thrones season 8 may feature a harder, tougher Arya, but when setting eyes on her first ever dragon, it’s impossible for her to stifle her glee. And this may seem like just another pointless scene that reveals next to nothing about the upcoming season, but Arya’s barely contained joy at seeing Drogon might indicate that the Stark sisters won’t be so frosty to their new house ghost. At least, Arya may not be. It’s hard to say how well Sansa appreciates playing host to the Dragon Queen.

Game of Thrones season 8 is quickly approaching. A full and proper trailer with real footage from the final soon will soon arrive, and when it does, expect fans across the internet to lose their collective minds. Of course, nothing a trailer reveals will be anywhere near as mind-blowing as what we’ll see in the final six episodes of Game of Thrones when the HBO series returns this spring.
