HBO’s Game of Thrones has come to an end but we’re still discussing all the character decisions, the major action sequences and of course, some of the most shocking twists and turns.

One character who provided many of these moments was Sansa Stark. Despite being from the house of the direwolves, she betrayed them a lot. Here are 10 of the worst things that Sansa ever did to House Stark, ranked.

INTRODUCING LITTLEFINGER

Introducing Littlefinger into the mix at the right moment was a stroke of genius as his forces turned the tide of battle for the Starks. However, in the long-term this decision had many consequences. For starters, Sansa didn’t even warn Jon of the impending allies.

Not only this, but Littlefinger is one of the best manipulators in the business. He quickly went to work dividing the family and claiming power for himself. Sansa put the Starks in real danger by bringing Littlefinger to the North.

BULLYING ARYA

Sisters fight, that’s just how life goes. However, Sansa always seemed to be a little harsher to Arya than was necessary. This caused a significant amount of distrust among the two which came back to haunt them years later.

Sansa didn’t trust Arya when she returned to Winterfell and the two had some disagreements. What’s more, Sansa thought Arya should have been a lady and never learned the combat skills that she did. Their relationship breakdown damaged the strength of the family unit.

LYING ABOUT JOFFREY

This behavior lead to a much bigger moment between the sisters. When Arya’s own direwolf briefly attacked Joffrey due to his horrible personality and bullying of Arya, Sansa lied and blamed it all on her younger sister.

This of course came back to haunt her as it was her own direwolf, Lady, who had to pay the price for the sin. However, this could have been a dangerous situation for Arya; in the book Cersei actually wanted the hand of the young Stark.

REJECTING HER BROTHER

During her younger days and even into adulthood, Sansa struggled with the fact that Jon was an illegitimate child. She was always quite harsh and she genuinely saw Jon as the bastard member of the family and could never quite accept him.

Her behavior towards him was perhaps colder than that to Arya. This could have had terrible consequences for the family as Sansa would have been even quicker to send Jon into an unfortunate situation in the future.

CONTENDING WITH JON

These choices towards Jon, as well as the Littlefinger betrayal, shows how Sansa quickly tries to undermine the new King in the North. She isn’t the most supportive of sisters and even makes him look like a weak leader in front of Winterfell.

What’s worse, Sansa doesn’t trust Jon’s decisions in regards to Dany and tries to play off against her, perhaps to weaken the alliance.

SPREADING SNOW’S SECRET

Jon Snow confided in his sisters that he isn’t what everyone thought he was. He’s actually the true heir to the throne and part Stark, part Targaryen. This news was of course crucial for Sansa and Arya to find out, but only one could keep a secret.

Sansa quickly spread the news, which angered Dany who was worried that Jon would try to take the throne from her in the future. Sansa nearly jeopardized everything for the Starks and fueled the Mad Queen into becoming more paranoid.

LETTER TO ROBB

During Sansa’s earlier days she had to give in to the Lannisters’ plans. Therefore, part of what the dastardly Cersei wanted was for the young Sansa to send a letter from King’s Landing, urging Robb to reconsider his claim to the throne.

The young man, who had been named King in the North, was one of the forces contending for the Iron Throne of Westeros. Sansa’s letter was clearly forged by another, but it made Robb question his choices and even doubted Sansa’s allegiances.

CERSEI’S MANIPULATION

Sansa only gave into Cersei’s manipulations further. Unfortunately for the Starks, the young lady seemed pretty enthralled with living in King’s Landing and being treated like a princess. She even wanted to marry Joffrey for a time.

This put pressures on Ned, whom Sansa seemed to think was some kind of traitor. It made him question every decision, and Sansa unknowingly became a hostage, stopping her father from doing what he needed to.

STANDING WITH THE LANNISTERS

This all came to a conclusion when Joffrey decided he wanted to execute Ned Stark. Unfortunately for Sansa, she fooled herself into standing with the Lannisters even when her father was on trial. She therefore stood by and watched as Ned was executed.

A number of decisions and choices lead up to that moment, and it has to be said that one of the worst things she did to her family was allowing her father’s dying moments to believe she had sided with the Lannisters rather than the Starks.

ALLOWING JON TO BE SENT TO THE WALL

The finale of the show left a lot of fans disappointed. The true King of Westeros was denied his throne and actually sent beyond the wall, back to his brothers in the Night’s Watch. This is a terrible decision by the characters and we can’t believe they didn’t fight for him more.

Sansa allowed this to happen to her brother, even though she knew it wasn’t right. Sure she stopped him from being executed, but the likelihood is that she knew she could claim more power by removing him from the picture and claiming Winterfell’s independence as the Queen in the North.
