It’s undeniable that Olaf is one of the best parts of Frozen, and seeing that we still have over a month left until Frozen II premiers, we thought we’d take a cruise through all of this snowman’s most memorable moments. Sometimes Olaf is laugh-out-loud hilarious. Other times he is heart-warming and sweet. All the time, he is oblivious in the best way possible.

Though Olaf has appeared in lots of content, including his own computer-animated featurette in 2017, we’re going to be looking exclusively at all of his best scenes and quotes from Frozen. After all, nothing beats the original, right? With that said, it’s time to head back to Arendelle and revisit everyone’s favorite snowman. Here, for the movie’s many, many fans, are Olaf’s most memorable moments.

When Olaf Asked About The Funny-Looking Donkey

When Anna meets Olaf, she quickly recognizes him from when she and Elsa were young. In her memories, he was an inanimate snowman they used to build as kids.

Kristoff and Sven, on the other hand, don’t have any Olaf memories, so their first encounter with him is entirely new. Olaf asks who the funny-looking donkey is, and Anna believes he’s asking about Sven. He then asks who the reindeer is, and that has Anna realizing that his original question was about Kristoff. Comedy gold.

When Olaf Wished To Be ‘In Summer’

Olaf is an ironic character. Though he is a snowman, his biggest dream is to “find out what happens to solid water when it gets warm.” We all know this isn’t going to work out well from the minute we meet him.

Despite this, Olaf obliviously bursts into a swingin’ song about his dream season. It’s even more hilarious with Anna and Kristoff watching from the sidelines.

When Olaf Was Impaled

Frozen’s leading snowman tells Anna that he’s sure her sister is great, even going so far as to saying she’s probably “the nicest, gentlest, warmest person ever.” Two seconds later, a sharp icicle that Elsa created shoves through him. “Oh, look at that. I’ve been impaled," he comments.

This joke is ironic on many levels, and we can’t help but love Olaf’s innocence through it all.

When Olaf Met Elsa

This endearing moment isn’t as popular as some of the others, but we’re still huge fans. Soon after Anna rushes into Elsa’s ice castle, Olaf wanders in as well. He smiles at Elsa and introduces himself with an enthusiastic, “hi, I’m Olaf, and I like warm hugs!” Elsa then asks him if he’s alive, to which he replies, “I think so.”

It’s cute to see the sisters bond over the memory of building a snowman together, even if it’s for only a moment. It hints at the happy future that is to come.

When Olaf Was Honest About His Anatomy

After being chased away by Elsa’s snow monster, the gang finds themselves in a pile of snow. While Kristoff is busy helping Anna up, Olaf is busy petting Sven like a dog and giving a colorful running commentary on all the happenings.

Anna touches Kristoff’s head, and he quickly grabs it and laughs since he bumped it and then tells her not to worry because he has a thick skull. That’s when Olaf pipes up, “I don’t have a skull. Or bones.” Way to ruin the flirtation.

When Olaf Met Kristoff’s Family

When Kristoff first introduced Anna and Olaf to his family, they didn’t know how to react. The reason is pretty simple: They look like rocks.

This makes Olaf think Kristoff is delusional, and he quickly jumps into action and starts humoring him by talking to the rocks like they’re people. He’s in for one giant surprise when they roll to life and end up popping up as trolls.

When Olaf Set Out To Kiss Hans

After meeting with the trolls, Anna learns that the only cure to her quickly freezing body is an act of true love. She determines that this means Hans — her one-day fiancé — must kiss her in order to save her from an icy death.

She tells the gang, and on the back of Sven, they begin racing back to the castle. This has Olaf calling out, “let’s go kiss Hans,” and then following that with, “who is this Hans?” Yes, there was a part of the story he missed. We love his enthusiasm and utter obliviousness as much as the rest of the world.

When Olaf Helps Anna Stay Warm

Soon after Hans betrays Anna and locks her away in the castle, Olaf bursts through the door using his carrot stick nose as a key. He makes Anna a fire to help her warm up and talks to her about love.

It is the sweetest thing in the world, only getting more adorable after he starts to literally melt and tells Anna that “some people are worth melting for.” We’re not crying, you’re crying.

When Olaf Sees Kristoff Racing Toward Anna

Right after the previous moment ends, Olaf hurries to the window, only to see Kristoff and Sven rushing toward Anna. This has Olaf confused for a very brief moment, but then he realizes that Kristoff can deliver Anna’s act of true love.

Olaf’s commentary is hilarious here, and then the happy snowman helps Anna gets out of the room and rejoin her beloved Kristoff. It’s the perfect mix of funny and sweet.

When Olaf Finally Saw Summer

At the end of Frozen, Elsa realizes that “true love thaws a frozen heart” and begins to melt the world around her. While this is exciting to everyone, it’s especially exciting to Olaf… until he starts to melt.

He tells the gang, “hands down, this is the best day of my life. And quite possibly the last.” Thankfully, Elsa spins him a personal snow cloud and he is able to live in the season he always dreamed of seeing.
