In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Friends TV show episodes will screen in theaters this fall. While the sitcom aired its final episode well over a decade ago, it has endured with audiences and led to a new generation of fans as well as waves of new merchandise.

Premiering in September 1994, the simple premise of six young people growing up and falling in love turned into one of the most beloved and successful television shows of all time. Friends aired on NBC for 10 seasons. Turning the cast, largely unknown at the start of the series, into worldwide superstars and putting NBC at the top of the ratings chart, the show has barely lost steam since its finale. With all 236 episodes available for online streaming, the question of whether or not Ross and Rachel were on a break has been taken up by viewers who were not yet born during the show’s initial run. To capitalize on that reliable popularity, several books have been released that either tie into the sitcom in some way or attempt to look at it critically. There’s an upcoming LEGO set, inspired by Central Perk, and complete with Gunther. There are some pretty creative Funko Pops. And now, for a limited time, fans will get the chance to watch some of the show’s most memorable moments in the theater.

According to TV Line, the screenings will happen across three nights starting in late September. In movie theaters across the United States, devotees of Friends will be treated to 12 episodes that are widely regarded as the show’s best. The list includes the pilot episode, along with classics like “The One With the Embryos” with its impromptu quiz battle over Monica and Rachel’s apartment. The episodes, which are listed in full below, span from season 1 to season 6. That would seem to be a point in favor of those who prefer the show’s early and middle years.

The event will also feature exclusive interviews and never-before-seen content. While a Friends reunion or reboot has been shot down over the years, audiences will definitely delight in the experience of seeing the 12 episodes in a heightened format that pays tribute to the show. To many fans, the series represents a necessary nostalgia, offering a pleasant feeling of familiar companionship at the end of a long day. It has been able to translate that feeling into a lasting legacy, which has greatly influenced viewing habits even though many acknowledge that certain punchlines have aged poorly. This upcoming theatrical release, a rarity for any television series, is yet another example of how Friends remains relevant today.
