The Wall Street Journal spoke with an unnamed Hon Hai executive today about why the iPhone 5 is experiencing supply shortages, and the Taiwanese manufacturer, also known as Foxconn, apparently blamed it on the smartphone’s complicated design and its subsequent assembly process. “The iPhone 5 is the most difficult device that Foxconn has ever assembled. Several GameStop employees have stated that the company is becoming increasingly desperate and that they are facing extreme pressure from their bosses. These stores were all under-performing and therefore the company felt it needed to make cuts, while more stores are planned to close down over the next several years....

GameStop’s previous fiscal year saw the company record a net profit of $34.7 million, and although that figure isn’t big for a company that has been as historically profitable as GameStop, it still marks a significant downturn over 2018....
