Frozen II is expected to be a smash hit, with projections now pointing to a $100 million opening weekend. Frozen made a killing at the box office in 2013, giving its direct competition, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, a run for its money. Its first three days, Frozen saw a haul of $67.4 million, while its five-day gross topped out at $93.6 million. This is around $5 million behind Zootopia, which still stands as Disney’s highest-grossing non-Pixar film to date....

Gartner is out with its latest report tracking smartphone movement during the previous year and more specifically the holiday quarter. Headlining the report is news that over 1 billion smartphones were sold in 2014, a data point IDC first said was hit in the previous year, adding that two out of three phones sold last year qualified as smartphones. Gartner’s data shows Apple topped Samsung in worldwide smartphone sales with 74,832,000 units shipped during the holiday quarter, just 1....

The doors officially open to the public on Saturday, but One More Thing photographer Rogier Visser has shared some great photos of the new store from this morning’s press event. Apple confirmed to One More Thing that the store will hold 300 employees who can serve customers in 14 languages, and it features the world’s longest Genius Bar at 20 meters long with 34 stools....

Riffing on the tune of ‘Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer’, Microsoft has posted a new ad for the Surface Go which pokes fun at the iPad for not being a real computer … With just a few lines of lyrics, the Surface ad sums up a lot of the current hesitation towards iPad usage as true computer replacements. The ad plays off the sentiment that iPads are toys and media devices and not serious work machines; the girl sings ‘Fine when I was 6 but now I’m 10, my dreams are big so I need a real computer’....

Joe movies, the sci-fi action series based on Hasbro’s popular toy and media franchise. The first movie in the main franchise, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, was released in 2009. It starred Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, and Sienna Miller.
