The scripts for Game of Thrones season 8 have finally clarified what Bran Stark was doing during the Battle of Winterfell. The HBO’s eighth and final season had been teasing the battle for quite some time, but it finally came to a head during the third episode, “The Long Night.” Bran, now transformed into the Three-Eyed Raven, was the clear target of the Night King. Part of the plan was to keep Bran at the godswood as a way to lure the Night King....

There are a lot of things that fans want to see in the final season of Game of Thrones - most of which are all but guaranteed to happen - such as the Cleganebowl. The Cleganebowl is the name fans have given to a showdown between brothers Sandor and Gregor Clegane. Over the past few weeks, security experts have warned Mac users of a new virus making its rounds called the “Flashback” trojan. Flashback is allegedly on over 600,000 Macs, which is roughly 1-percent of the 45 million out there. Flashback exploits a pair of vulnerabilities in older versions of Java. Apple may have patched it, but it is still out there and running on many machines. How do you know if you are infected?...

T-Mobile is offering customers of other carriers a free mobile hotspot device, together with a free data plan lasting 30 days or 30GB, whichever comes first. The hotspot is similar to devices that sell for around $30, and T-Mobile says you can keep it afterwards – though there’s likely a catch to that… The offer is the latest incarnation of T-Mobile’s Test Drive program, intended to let customers of rival carriers see for themselves how the company’s data coverage and speeds compare....

We first heard talk of a new iPhone SE model back in August, and a new report today echoes this. Labelling it the iPhone SE 2, the Chinese report suggests that it will be exclusively manufactured by Wistron in India, though for worldwide sale … The supply-chain report doesn’t have any fresh details about the rumored device beyond suggesting a first-quarter launch. This would be in line with the original model, which went on sale in March of 2016....

FritzFrog is a peer-to-peer botnet discovered in January 2020. Over a period of eight months, the botnet managed to strike at least 500 government and enterprise SSH servers. The P2P botnet, written in the Golang programming language, is decentralized in nature and will attempt to brute-force servers, cloud instances, and other devices – including routers – that have exposed entry points on the internet. On Thursday, cybersecurity researchers from Akamai Threat Labs said that despite having gone quiet after its previous attack wave, since December, the botnet has reappeared with an exponential growth surge....

Well, what do you know, the Federal Trade Commission is putting acne-curing apps out of business with the announcement that developers will stop promoting them under FTC settlements. Jon Leibowitz, the chairman of the FTC, summed it up nicely: Computerworld explains that the FTC’s action was the first-ever against overblown health claims by mobile apps not supported by scientific evidence. Apps which claim to treat acne were found on both Apple’s App Store and Google’s Android Marketplace....

Following Canon opening up its native webcam software to Mac users, Fujifilm has announced that it is doing the same. The X Webcam app for Fujifilm cameras is slated to come to macOS in July. Fujifilm announced the news that its mirrorless cameras will be able to be used as Mac webcams after its X Webcam app first arrived for Windows back in May. The Mac version of the app should arrive in “mid-July” (via Engadget) and work with its X-series cameras....

As the fans of the HBO’s hit fantasy show Game of Thrones saw over and over again, it didn’t really matter how noble the characters were or how good. Even the most positive ones of all the heroes suffered a lot throughout the show’s long run, usually both physically and mentally. And sometimes, more often than not, they ended up dead. After a turbulent build-up fraught with controversies, the 2019 Oscars received an unsurprisingly mixed response, with the no-host format attracting plenty of praise but the Academy being roundly criticized for awarding Best Picture to the divisive Green Book. Spike Lee in particular has been vocal in his opposition to the decision. Generally, however, the Oscars were business as usual and featured the usual selection of Hollywood’s finest in attendance, including Game of Thrones stars Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke....

Out of all the Friends, Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) had the biggest character growth. She also had to work hard to integrate herself into the gang since she had a different social background. Yet, with the help of Monica (Courteney Cox) and Ross (David Schwimmer), she was able to form strong relationships with the other members. However, there were times when the gang also let down Rachel as they valued their friendship more with other members of the group....

In what appears to be a simultaneous move today, both G-Technology and Seagate have announced upgrades to their storage device lineups bringing capacities up to 10TB each. Seagate today has introduced a new lineup of hard drives titled the Guardian Series, while G-Technology has decided to move towards upgrading their current portfolio’s max capacity. Although separate, both companies expound on the growing needs of consumers for larger capacity drives in their lives....

Game of Thrones is a show that is notorious for a lot of different things, but the one thing that seems to distinguish it from the rest of the TV shows in history is that the writers seem to be incredibly thirsty for the blood of their own characters. The series takes great delight in tormenting and killing nearly every character that graces its screen, and the list of GoT characters who have brutally died is probably a mile long by now....
